Husband claims that wife tricked him into marriage

It's no secret that divorce can lead to a wide variety of legal issues for New Yorkers. These concerns range from child custody to the division of assets to accusations of foul play. In any case, individuals seeking to end a marriage need an experienced legal advocate on their side.

New York residents might be interested in a story about a man who claims that his marriage was a scheme by his wife to obtain his family's riches. His wife sued for divorce, and he filed a complaint with the court against her when she moved to sequester marital assets. The wife's filing requested the distribution of property, alimony and protection of marital assets, but it does not detail the reason for divorce, although she reportedly said she wanted her husband to "get well."

According to the man, he married his wife after she gave him a Range Rover and lulled him into a false sense of security. His complaint states that the plan was to woo him into accepting a marriage proposal through the fraudulent offer of sexual favors, money and emotional support. The complaint goes on to suggest that the woman would then flee with a past lover to another country after making a legal play at the plaintiff's assets and the assets of his family.

As this case illustrates, divorces can be tricky, and if anyone involved doesn't trust the intentions of the other party, the legal battle and dispute can get a bit ugly. It's important for individuals facing this kind of divorce struggle to be aware of their rights and consult with a divorce attorney who can work to settle the matter as quickly and beneficially as possible.
