Murdoch seeks low-profile divorce from wife

Many individuals in high-profile careers are well aware of the strain that these jobs can place on their marriages. The attention that is demanded by their careers can force them to have to pick between work and family. For some, this can wind up leading to divorce.

Rupert Murdoch recently announced that he was seeking a divorce from his third wife. Like many other couples going through a high-asset divorce in New York, there are multiple agreements in place that carefully spell out what would happen should the marriage end. While these agreements cover most of the issues that need to be addressed, there are still some issues that could result in the divorce becoming more complicated.

The prenuptial agreement that the couple has seems to grant significant assets to Murdoch's wife of 14 years. This means that the only issues the couple may need to resolve concerns child custody matters, which may be more difficult to determine.

If both parties remain committed to the agreements, the divorce process could be fairly quick. If issues arise, the matter could have to be heard in court, which would increase the publicity and attention placed upon the divorce.

Many couples in these types of divorces want to keep the matter as low-profile as possible. This helps alleviate some of the emotions that often arise during a divorce. It allows couples to focus on the issues that are important, instead of having to deal with constant media attention.

Those considering filing for divorce may wish to speak to an experienced family law attorney. An attorney can help clients understand the divorce process, and can explain all of the different options facing these individuals at this time.
