Dwayne Wade and ex reach divorce settlement

Roughly three years since being officially divorced, a divorce settlement has finally been reached between NBA star Dwayne Wade and ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. In recent years, the couple have made headlines as they've been embroiled in bitter and public disputes related to financial matters and custody of their two children.

Wade recently helped his NBA team the Miami Heat become two-time consecutive national champs. While experiencing tremendous professional success, the NBA star's drawn-out divorce continued to loom over him. According to reports, the Wade and Funches finally reached a divorce settlement with Funches being awarded a lump sum of $5 million. Additionally, the complex divorce settlement provides Funches with a large home as well as four luxury cars.

Other terms of the divorce settlement include an agreement that neither Wade nor Funches is allowed to speak negatively of one another to the press. This decree was issued in response to growing concern over the increasingly negative comments and actions by Funches who just days before the settlement was reached, again spoke out publicly against Wade.

Prior to the formal divorce settlement, Wade was paying the mortgage on Funches's home as well as providing $25,000 per month in spousal support. Wade was previously awarded sole custody of the couple's two children and has expressed concerns over his ex's mental state.

While the bulk of financial matters related to the couple's divorce appear to have been settled, the two must still sort out formal child visitation terms. Coming to an agreement on visitation terms will likely result in another lengthy court battle given the couple's contentious relationship.
