Speculation grows of possible impending Kardashian divorce

In our most-recent post, we discussed both the financial and emotional drawbacks associated with long-term separations. News recently broke of one such marital separation involving former olympian Bruce Jenner and his wife of 22 years, Kris Kardashian.

New York residents may or may not have tuned in to the television reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Even for those who have not seen the reality show, members of the Kardashian clan seem to be everywhere nowadays. Kris Kardashian is the matriarch to the Kardashian family and she and Jenner have been married and raised both their own children and step-children together for the last 22 years.

According to online sources, Jenner, 63, and Kardashian, 57, have an estimated combined net worth of $125 million dollars. What's more, the couple reportedly never signed a prenuptial agreement when they wed in 1991. At the time the couple met, fell in love and married, Jenner was undoubtedly the bread winner. In recent years, however, the tables have turned.

Kris Kardashian manages the careers of all six of her children and, as such, is entitled to a cut of any profits reaped from joint or individual business ventures. With clothing lines, paid appearances and a television show; it stands to reason that Kris is now the one bringing in the money.

While the couple contends the decision to split was mutual and that they have no immediate plans to divorce, things could quickly change. Many couples who separate remain married for a time for the benefit of minor-age children, eventually, however, tensions tend to come to a head and matters related to divorce must be addressed.

If and when Jenner and Kardashian decide to divorce, it will be interesting to see how the couple goes about splitting up their considerable assets and belongings. It's also possible that Jenner may seek alimony or a stake in Kris's business ventures.
