We are willing to fight for a father's custody rights

It wasn't so very long ago that New York City courts typically gave women the upper hand in divorce court. Judges used to routinely award the mother custody in divorce cases, and fathers considered themselves lucky if they got awarded fairly liberal visitation rights.

But that ship has sailed. New York City family law courts no longer automatically award custody to the mother in contested divorce and custody matters. Instead, judges consider which parent will provide the better environment in which to rear the children and what will be in the children's best interest. Increasingly, that is to live with their father.

At our law firm, we favor a creative approach to solving custodial dilemmas. Not every case needs to be hashed out inside of a courtroom. We find that often parents can reach an agreement that satisfies both parties using strategies like conflict resolution and mediation between the parties and their respective attorneys.

When accord cannot be reached, we will fight for the rights of our clients in court. Studies have shown that parental alienation can lead to addiction, substance abuse, self-hatred and low self-esteem in children. This subtle form of child abuse can cause children to experience distrust in relationships and lose their capacity to share a parent's love. We will present a vociferous defense to meritless accusations and scurrilous allegations from our clients' former spouses. We will fight hard to make sure that our clients continue to enjoy close and loving relationships with their children no matter which parent ultimately is awarded physical custody.

If you are a father who is fighting for custody of his children, we can help you by joining the fight. Call us for a confidential consultation.
