Ashley Madison hack snares celebrity couple

The Ashley Madison hack that has cheating spouses quaking in their marital beds has allegedly affected the marriage of one of the Real Housewives of New York.

Sources cite the Daily Mail for uncovering evidence that Kristen Taekman's husband signed up in June 2011 for an account with the website promoting extramarital affairs.

Josh Taekman, founder of Eboost, allegedly paid out thousands of dollars in his 62 transactions. According to media reports, the address of the Taekman's apartment in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood was a duplicate of the one for the credit card used by the cheating website for billing.

Ashley Madison, based in Canada, is a website intended to link married men with women for extramarital affairs. The sign-up is free; however, users must purchase credits to send messages to others. Spending $49 nets users 100 credits, and $250 is good for 1,000 credits. As a bonus, it also has a money-back guarantee if an affair doesn't result.

Taekman and his wife, a model, have two children. He issued a firm denial that he used the site. His wife reportedly supports his denial. During seasons of RHONY, Taekman has behaved dismissively towards his wife, but they renewed their wedding vows in season seven.

Many couples have prenuptial agreements with adultery clauses that give the cheated-upon spouse specific properties or monetary awards when a cheater is exposed. There is no indication that the Taekmans have any such clause, however.

Drawing up a prenup prior to the wedding is becoming more and more common, even among couples with few tangible assets. To learn whether this would be a good option for you, a family law attorney is a good source of guidance.
